A number of stops along King and Main streets were designed for the standard 12-metre buses.Drivers said they were forced to stop with the back half of the vehicle on an angle, creating a dangerous blind spot.
"The concern is that if a passenger fell, we couldn't see them," said Eric Tuck, who is vice-president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 107 and has driven articulated buses on the King route.

Wonderful. Back to the shrimp-boat buses. The articulated ones have made travelling on King bearable.

The bus drivers would know more of the potential hazards then the average citizen, so I think that if the drivers have brought these issues to the forefront, it is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI mean we may have a route planner who sits in front of a computer that does not have the driving experience and that is a potential hazard in regard to public safety.
It is the driver that bares the responsibility if someone gets hurt not the desk jockey.
