Mayor Receives Death Threat

The mayor  told CH TV this morning he has received a threat since city council voted 10-6 to locate the Pan Am stadium in the West Harbour area instead of where the Hamilton Tiger Cats wanted it to go on the East Mountain.

“I am sure there are lots of folks out there that think I am crazy and – in amongst the death threats and everything I’ve received....”

The CH reporter stopped him and asked if he has received  such threats over the stadium issue.. “I have,” Eisenberger said. “Absolutely.”

The matter is being investigated by The Hamilton Police. The Hamiltonian is saddened that matters have reached such a horrid and potentially, if proven, criminal,  extent.

  1. What, only one? Just kidding, I think. People say awful things when they are upset, then later regret them.

What I really find sad is we are losing sight of the heart and spirit of the games, why we are participating in this world class event in the first place.

  2. Mr. Whittle: Yes, I saw your Letter to the Editor in the Stoney Creek News, in which you expand on your second point expressed here. And as I expressed in a followup editorial, I think you're way off the mark...and quite frankly, you could join the same Club of Thumping-heart Rhetoric that so many of the West Harbour supporters are clearly members of.

I am fascinated as to why you're wearing your heart on your sleeve in so Drama Queenish a manner with this mindset, given that you're known for a common-sense approach to most things. You make it seem like the travails that Hamilton has encountered (produced on its own?) en route to coming up with some kind of decision are somehow doing irreparable harm to the Pan Am Games legacy. Where have you hidden the real Mr. Whittle, the one so capable of making so many bristle with mere words on the screen? : )

  3. A lot of people don't like him or agree with how he's doing as the Mayor but death threats? Now that's crossing the line. That's going over board.
