Pasuta's Pledge

Given that Clr. Robert Pasuta is in the unique position of being the only person who will win his ward by acclamation, we asked him the following question. A special thank-you to the Clr. for engaging and replying:

Q. Clr. Pasuta:
Given that you are the only councillor who will be re-elected by acclamation, can you tell us what your pledge and promise will be to Hamiltonians and constituents of your ward, over the next term?

A. It is my intention to continue on as I have for my first term. I am a hands on Councillor becoming personally involved with rural issues visiting and giving direction where needed.     I have always done my best to insure the residents of ward 14 recieve the respect and appreciation that their tax dollars deserve.  At the same time I have kept in mind the best interests  of the entire City of Hamilton,  actively  attending and supporting our City as a whole.

I believe Hamilton has the potential to make all of it's residents proud.  We have the ingredients for a prosperous, diverse, vibrant City.   Harbor, post secondary institutions, airport, agriculture, green energy initiatives,  roads, rail,  tourism etc..   We need the blue ribbon recipe and a group of leaders working as a team to make it happen.

  1. One of the few that I respect, he is a straight up person. Maybe due to his humble profession as a farmer.

  2. I am truly impressed with the way he carries himself and I would be more than pleased to work with him.Talking to him in person is a "real"pleasure.

  3. Acclamations generally bug me on a personal level, due to my passion for democracy.. but if I had to choose one councillor I am okay seeing acclaimed, Mr. Pasuta would be a top choice.

I've seen him talk in council meetings.. I don't know if I've just missed rants at some point, but from the evidence I have seen, he has been polite, thoughtful, respectful, and authentic.

I have even heard a comment that if you could accuse him of anything, it would be for being too naive and idealistic. I think that's a "character flaw" I can handle.

  4. It is hard to find a more genuine individual...ethical, hard working and humble. Good for you Robert. Happy to see you return to council for another term.
15 more like yourself and we'd have a bright future in Hamilton.
