DiIanni says "Give me a break!"
Some of our readers believe that your hosting Cable 14 shows, is really about you wanting to maintain a public presence, to bolster your chances in a future run for Mayor. How do you respond to that? If you remain undecided as to whether you will run for Mayor, when, if at any time, would you see it as not appropriate to continue with Cable 14?
Larry's response:
Really? There are readers out there who care about what I'm doing? They need to get a life. The last thing on my mind is running for any elected office. I have done enough of that. Tell them to continue watching Cable 14 to be informed and entertained (I hope) and should my left ear twitch, don't mistake it for a signal of political interest. On the other hand, the colour of my ties on alternate weeks may just portend unintended political ambitions. Be on the lookout!
Give me a break!

He's running.
ReplyDeleteYep your right Mark-Alan. Look at his previous answer which came out from both sides of his mouth,
DeleteI for one do not find him entertaining in the least.
In fact, I find him monotone and boring. It is the people he interviews I am interested in.
I stopped watching Cable 14 mostly becuz......
Its the only answer he could give, or else he would have to give up the ongoing long free commercial on 14.
ReplyDeleteWatch the right ear.....
twitch.. twitch.. shudder.. shudder
DeleteGotta love it. you gals/guys have a way of asking a question.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Larry. Great answer and I for one, find your Cable 14 presence entertaining. Almost as much as your answer here.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bob.
DeleteLarry meant to say
ReplyDelete"The first and last thing on my mind is running for elected office."
If that is the last thing on his mind, he has to be careful as to where he meets with people who were involved in his campaign last time around. Or maybe their just having cofee. .
ReplyDeleteThe mixed messaging ("There are readers out there who care about what I'm doing?"/"continue watching Cable 14 to be informed and entertained") and casual contempt for the his audience ("They need to get a life."/"Give me a break") certainly mark him as a seasoned politician.
ReplyDeleteIf not mayoral, perhaps federal.
Larry
ReplyDeleteYou have been seen around town with your last campaign officer talking at coffee shops. Come on spare us the drama. If you are running, and I hope you are NOT be a man about it and tell the people of Hamilton. The game you are playing is old and boring. If you want to be respected as a true leader in the community tell people up front that your intention's are to be the leader of this city.
Ever since DiIanni pleaded guilty for violating the Provincial Offences Act , trust has been a major issue. So, with his vague answers and his denying that he will be running, it does not bode well for him. If he does decide to run, his statements here will surely be held up and the issue of trust will be front and center again.

DeleteIn all fairness to Larry, he has paid the price for his impropries.
Although, it will not be forgotten obviously the merits for his contributions to this city should not be minimized or lionized.
