  1. City of Hamilton STRATEGIC PLAN 2012 – 2015:

-- Accountability ‐ WE are responsible for our actions, ensuring the efficient, cost‐effective and sustainable use of public resources.

-- Equity ‐ WE provide equitable access to municipal services and treat all people fairly.

-- Honesty ‐ WE are truthful and act with integrity.

-- Respect ‐ WE treat ourselves and others as we would like to be treated.

Now that these priorities are officially approved by the council - it is imperative that all Councillors publicly clarify all pending questions related to the operations of the "Hamilton Waterfront Trust" since 2001.

In the on-going absence of moral and ethical clarity by the councillor on this issue, they needs to inform the residents of Hamilton as to how exactly are they hoping to implement their 'strategic objective & actions' on items below:

(ii) Finalize a development and servicing strategy for the west harbour lands, with a particular focus on Piers 5, 6, 7 & 8 and the Barton/Tiffany area

(ix) "Initiate development in the West Harbourfront and Waterfront (this includes the Bayfront Industrial area) and develop a commercial business strategy for Confederation Park"

Councilors will simply not be upfront regarding the HWT, because it would be politically devastating. And besides, the rest of the media are asleep on the issue. With no media heat, they get away with it. Blame the media.

This is one of the few places, maybe the only place, where you can see the true colours of councilors and the city. Hypocrisy runs rampant.

  3. Add this line to the strat plan

" We will hold out these values, but act as though they are just lip service"

I think it is time we had a look at the politicians and the bureaucrats that run this city and turf them.

  4. We will hold out these values, until they become an inconvenience. Then we will all sit by without a peep while one of us says "thats off the table".What a farce.
