Compliance Audit requested for Pearson's Campaign Finances

I looked up her papers and there are some questions for sure. I found it here http://www.hamilton.ca/sites/default/files/media/browser/2015-03-27/pearson_maria_2014financialstatement.pdf

$4,689.50 for voting day party/appreciation notices. Hmmmmm

    Interesting.

At the beginning of the 2010 municipal election, a Ward 10 candidate decided to stake his chances on a legal challenge to Councillor Pearson's campaign finances from the 2006 election. I was there when this newbie held a 'press conference' on the front steps of City Hall. (The video I shot is still available for public viewing.)

I had interviewed him over coffee in the weeks leading up to his announcement, exhorting him to not take this tack, no matter how much the 'white knight in shining armour' he had set his heart on being. But he was firm in his convictions. (It may be that as he had emigrated from a South American country, his perspective on 'corruption' may have influenced his decision.)

He got obliterated in the election.

This anecdote should not be taken as support for for the compliance audit, nor against it, but merely as a sidebar.

    1. @Brassington-I am not sure what the relevance of that is.

I'd like to see the complaint filed. Took a quick look at her financials. Some questions do arise.

  3. I was never good at math but I think it is a little odd that her spending and expenses are so close, almost the same. But like I said, I am not an auditor.
