Media Release- Westmount's Dance Marathon

Students from Westmount Secondary and the Children’s Miracle Network will “Dance for those who can’t” to raise money for McMaster Children’s Hospital

About us:

Westmount Secondary School is hosting its very first Dance Marathon event on November 20th in support of McMaster Children’s Hospital. They are asking for your support in making this event a success. Established by the Children’s Miracle Network, the Dance Marathon is the largest student-led fundraising event in the world, having raised over 100 million dollars for local children’s hospitals across North America. They have been hosting a series of events to raise awareness, get students active and support local pediatric care. Their campaign will culminate with a massive dance event which challenges students to stay on their feet late into the night in a show of support for children struggling against illness. Students will “Dance for those who can’t” and contribute 100% of the money raised to McMaster Children’s Hospital. This event will be the very first to take place in the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and the students are working to ensure it is a huge success and serves as an example for other local high schools.

How to help

To help support in this worthy endeavour, they would appreciate any form of product or money donation. Products will be included in prize draws to help encourage pledges. It would also be beneficial to receive products on the day of the event to provide food and drinks for participants. All money donations will be given directly to McMaster Children’s Hospital and all products will contribute greatly to the success of our event.

Generous donors are the key to their success and make it possible for Westmount and Children’s Miracle Network to provide local children and families at McMaster Children’s Hospital with a healthy tomorrow.
