Further to The Hamiltonian’s recent piece on Hamilton as a Sanctuary City, and why it matters, (click here to see it) we invited all declared mayoral candidates to participate in The Hamiltonian’s Before the Ballot – Questions for Hamilton’s Next Mayor and share their perspectives on this important issue.
The submission period has now concluded. Below are links to the candidates who participated and their responses:

At The Hamiltonian, we strive to provide Hamiltonians with as much information as possible so that voters can make informed decisions at the ballot box.
I would like to personally recognize and thank mayoral candidates Sasha Austin, Ejaz Butt, and Scarlett Gillespie for taking the time to share their views and place them before the public for consideration. As always, The Hamiltonian’s Before the Ballot series is open to all declared candidates, and we encourage readers to consider not only the perspectives offered, but also the information made available to them as they assess those seeking to lead our city.
I believe an informed electorate is a stronger electorate, and a stronger electorate ultimately contributes to a stronger Hamilton.
