Keep it Clean

In a previous article published in The Hamiltonian After Dark (click here to read it), our Publisher examined the less admirable side of election campaigns and some of the tactics that bad actors may employ in an effort to influence the outcome of an election.

If you witness or become the victim of conduct that appears to contravene municipal election rules or campaign-related by-laws, it is important to report those concerns to the City of Hamilton's Election Office. To assist readers in understanding the appropriate process, The Hamiltonian contacted the City's Election Office for guidance. The Office kindly provided the following link (click here to go there) , which outlines how election-related concerns may be reported and the procedures that apply should you need to pursue the matter.

A piece of advice from The Hamiltonian? Keep your campaign clean and set that tone for your team. You can launch a viable bid without resorting to bad tactics.
